A Texas DPS trooper died in a fiery crash while responding to a call in San Jacinto County.

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper died in a fiery crash while responding to a call in San Jacinto County late Monday night. The officer was traveling on FM 945 near the East Fork of the San Jacinto River bridge when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a pine tree, and caught fire. He was en route to assist local law enforcement.
