The Nigerian Federal Government is accelerating efforts to move cattle from Abuja’s city center to designated grazing reserves, with Minister of Livestock Development Dr. Idi Maiha announcing the initiative during the 2025 Media Retreat in Kaduna.
He also revealed plans for a national peace campaign to reduce conflicts between farmers and herders, stressing the need for state government cooperation to ensure lasting peace, food security, and stability.
The move follows public concern over cattle roaming in urban areas.
