Josiah Backus, 26, sentenced to life without parole for sexually abusing three young children in Georgia.
Josiah Matthew Backus, 26, of Walker County, Georgia, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to multiple counts of aggravated child molestation and child molestation.
He admitted to sexually abusing three young children, ages 5 to 8, with their accounts corroborating each other.
The investigation began in August 2024 after a family friend reported his confession.
Authorities, including the Walker County Sheriff's Office, the Lookout Mountain District Attorney's Office, and the Children's Advocacy Center, worked together to secure the conviction.
District Attorney Clayton M. Fuller emphasized the sentence sends a strong message against child predators.
Backus will not be eligible for parole for 35 years.
