The speed specialist, who had competed in 17 World Cup races and won a super-G event on the Europa Cup circuit, suffered a severe head injury and was placed in an induced coma before passing away.
He was training with Italy’s national team ahead of the 2025/2026 season and the Milan-Cortina Olympics.
The Italian Winter Sports Federation confirmed the death, calling it a tragedy for the sport.
This marks the second elite Italian skier to die in less than a year.
