Charlestown MP Jodie Harrison has defended the appointment of former NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb to a three-month advisory role on domestic violence, highlighting Webb’s experience in tackling the issue.
Webb, who resigned in May, is assisting Harrison, the Minister for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, in implementing the CARAS framework, a system-wide effort to improve safety for victims and hold perpetrators accountable.
A report on CARAS implementation is due by the end of September.
