Chhattisgarh doubles ex-gratia to families of fallen soldiers to ₹50 lakh and boosts benefits for veterans and their families.
The Chhattisgarh government has increased ex-gratia payments to families of soldiers killed in action from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh and raised gallantry award benefits, with Param Vir Chakra recipients now receiving Rs 1 crore.
The changes were approved during the sixth Rajya Sainik Board meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
Additional benefits include higher financial aid for disabled soldiers, increased grants for parents of serving soldiers, and a stamp duty exemption of up to Rs 25 lakh on first home or land purchases for soldiers, ex-servicemen, and widows.
