Brisbane to allow taller buildings near three transit hubs to cut sprawl and boost housing.
Brisbane City Council plans to boost housing near three suburban transit hubs—Indooroopilly, Carindale, and Nundah—by allowing taller buildings and more apartments in mixed-use developments to reduce urban sprawl and improve access to infrastructure.
Height limits will increase at Indooroopilly and Carindale, while Nundah will keep its 12-storey cap but permit more residential units in mixed-use buildings.
The initiative mirrors Sydney’s Transport Oriented Development model.
Community consultation is scheduled for next year, with full details to be announced by Mayor Adrian Schrinner.
