American sprinter Cordell Tinch won the gold medal in the men's 110m hurdles at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, finishing with a time of 12.99 seconds.
He edged out Jamaica's Orlando Bennett and Tyler Mason, who recorded personal bests of 13.08 and 13.12 seconds, respectively.
Tinch, a Green Bay native, claimed his first world title after previously placing second at the U.S. national championships.
His victory came after a break from competitive track, during which he worked odd jobs including selling phones and in paper factories, which he credits for his personal growth and success.
