Lebanon grants Elon Musk's Starlink a license to offer satellite internet amid poor local infrastructure.
Lebanon has granted Elon Musk's Starlink a license to provide satellite internet services throughout the country, known for its slow internet speeds and crumbling infrastructure.
The decision, announced by Information Minister Paul Morcos, follows six months of negotiations and comes nearly three months after Musk's interest was expressed in a phone call with President Joseph Aoun.
Starlink will initially offer services to businesses at $100 per month.
The Cabinet also named regulatory authorities for the electricity and telecommunications sectors during the same meeting.
