Irish water authority extends water-use bans in three counties due to record low water levels.
Irish water supplier Uisce Éireann has extended hosepipe bans in three counties—Meath, Westmeath, and Donegal—until October 13, due to critically low water levels.
The bans were extended despite recent rainfall, as the regions experienced a dry autumn, winter, and spring followed by the warmest summer on record.
Uisce Éireann has urged the public to continue conserving water.
Meanwhile, the bans in Tipperary, Cork, Waterford, and Wexford will end on September 16 due to improved conditions.
