The Madlanga Commission, set up by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, will begin public hearings on September 17 to investigate corruption within the police force. KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who accused the police minister of corruption, will be the first witness. Delays due to ICT procurement issues have been resolved, and the commission plans to protect witness identities. It will also launch a public hotline for anonymous tips.
