New Orleans survivors of clergy abuse secure a $230M settlement from the Archdiocese and insurers.
New Orleans survivors of clergy abuse have reached a partial settlement with the Archdiocese and Travelers Insurance, totaling at least $230 million.
This follows a long bankruptcy process and claims filed under the Louisiana Child Victim Act.
Survivors will now be able to sue Travelers Insurance separately.
The settlement needs approval from two-thirds of the survivors to be confirmed by U.S. District Judge Meredith Grabill.
