Liberia's Finance Minister requests corruption inquiry into $99M in undocumented transactions.
Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Liberia's Finance Minister, has asked the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission to look into recent audits that found $2.8 million in payments lacking proper documentation and $96 million in undocumented transactions from the previous year.
Ngafuan argues the issues are administrative, not fraudulent, and highlights improvements with a new Electronic Document Management System to be fully operational by December.
This comes amid efforts to improve financial transparency and public trust in governance.
