Students sue over new Texas law restricting campus activities, claiming it violates free speech.
Students at the University of Texas at Austin have sued over a new state law, Senate Bill 2972, which limits student "expressive activities" on campus.
The law, in effect since September 1, bans such activities between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. and restricts inviting speakers and using amplification devices during the last two weeks of a semester.
The lawsuit argues the law violates free speech rights.
