Milwaukee officials are addressing a rise in street takeovers, with over 59 incidents reported this year. Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Police Chief Jeffrey Norman outlined plans including stricter penalties, intelligence gathering, and public reporting. Assistant District Attorney Dax Odom will work with law enforcement to pursue charges against both participants and spectators. The issue has also arisen in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.
