Victoria mourns Senior Constable Vadim De Waart-Hottart, killed in service; extensive state funeral held.
A private funeral for 34-year-old Senior Constable Vadim De Waart-Hottart was held at the Victoria Police Academy.
He was killed during a warrant service in Porepunkah, northeast of Melbourne.
The service was attended by over 1,000 mourners, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Chief Commissioner Mike Bush, and Premier Jacinta Allan.
A flyover and guard of honor were part of the ceremony, followed by a private cremation.
De Waart-Hottart was killed alongside Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson, whose funeral is scheduled for Monday.
