Europe unveils Jupiter, its fastest supercomputer, aimed at advancing AI and climate research.
Europe's fastest supercomputer, Jupiter, is set to be inaugurated in Germany, aiming to boost the continent's capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI) and climate research.
As Europe's first "exascale" supercomputer, Jupiter can perform one quintillion calculations per second, making it 20 times more powerful than any other computer in Germany.
The system, equipped with 24,000 Nvidia chips, can be used for training AI models and climate forecasting.
Funded by the European Union and Germany, Jupiter is also noted for being the world's most energy-efficient among the fastest computer systems.
