Punjab's Chief Minister calls for more flood relief as over 256,000 are impacted.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is calling for increased relief payments for flood victims after assessing the damage in Ferozepur district. The floods have affected over 2.56 lakh people across 12 districts, causing significant loss of life and crop damage. Mann wants to raise the compensation for crop loss and the ex-gratia payment for families of deceased persons. The Haryana government has provided Rs 5 crore each to Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir for relief efforts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inquired about the situation in Punjab and offered support.
