Irish Garda speed vans collected over €32 million in fines over a 30-month period, with Dublin, Tipperary, Cork, and Kildare leading in revenue. Despite generating significant fines, the system operates at a loss, with the Garda paying over €44 million to private operators. MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú calls for increased focus on accident-prone areas, new speed cameras, and potential re-education for repeat offenders, as speeding caused 52 deaths in 2024.
