Former Dublin GAA manager Jim Gavin is nominated for Ireland's presidency by Fianna Fáil.
Jim Gavin, the former Dublin GAA manager known for winning six All-Ireland titles, is set to be Fianna Fáil's candidate for the Irish presidential election in October.
Gavin, who has also served in the Defence Forces and is now chief operations officer of the Irish Aviation Authority, received backing from the Taoiseach and government ministers.
He will compete against MEP Billy Kelleher and Galway Independent TD Catherine Connolly, who has support from several left-wing parties.
