Teacher noticed signs of self-harm in student who later carried out church shooting in 2025.

Sarah Reely, an art teacher, noticed signs of self-harm on her student Robin Westman in 2017 and reported it. Westman later carried out a shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, killing two and injuring 18 during a Mass. Westman was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Despite Minnesota having a red flag law, no actions were taken to prevent Westman from acquiring weapons.
