Sifan Hassan and Hailemaryam Kiros set record times at Sydney's debut World Marathon Major.

Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands and Hailemaryam Kiros of Ethiopia set record-breaking times at the Sydney Marathon, marking its debut as one of the World Marathon Majors. Hassan won the women's race in 2:18:22, while Kiros took the men's race with a time of 2:06:06. The event attracted around 35,000 runners and included wheelchair races, with Marcel Hug of Switzerland winning the men's wheelchair event.
