As of December 31, 2024, over 7,000 corruption cases investigated by India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are pending in courts, with 379 cases delayed for over 20 years.
The CBI also has 13,100 appeals pending in high courts, and the conviction rate dropped to 69.14%.
The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) highlighted concerns over the backlog and long delays in resolving these cases.
