India plans to boost rice exports to the Philippines, but imports are paused to aid local farmers.

India aims to boost rice and agricultural exports to the Philippines, the world's largest rice importer, by sending a delegation to the country in early September. However, the Philippines has suspended rice imports from September 1 to October 30 to support local farmers during the harvest season. Both countries will engage further at the World Food India trade fair and the International Rice Conference. India's agricultural exports to the CIS region have also risen, reaching $628 million in 2024-25.
