UK's £1bn Teesside GigaPark to build a massive 1GW/8GWh battery to store renewable energy.

A £1bn battery park, known as the Teesside GigaPark, is being built in Teesside, UK, featuring a 1GW/8GWh lithium-ion battery system to store renewable energy. This project, a collaboration between NatPower UK and Sembcorp, will initially operate at four hours of storage with potential to double. It aims to stabilize energy prices, support clean energy transition, and create about 200 construction jobs and permanent skilled roles.
