Indian authorities clear landslide-hit roads and close schools amid severe weather in J&K.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is clearing landslide-hit roads in the Pir Panjal mountains, Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, following heavy rainfall and flash floods. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued weather alerts, including yellow alerts for thunderstorms and lightning, as well as orange alerts for heavier rainfall. All government and private schools in the Jammu Division were closed until August 30 due to severe weather conditions. The Chief Minister reviewed the flood situations caused by two days of heavy rainfall.
