British Columbia imposes a ban on campfires in central Interior areas due to fire risks.

A Category 1 campfire ban will take effect at noon on August 28, 2025, in the Kamloops Fire Centre, Cariboo Fire Centre, and Tsihqot'in (Xeni Gwet'in) Declared Title Area in British Columbia's central Interior. The ban includes all fires used for recreational and ceremonial purposes. The City of Salmon Arm Fire Department will also follow the ban, making city campfire permits invalid during this period.
