Japanese toilet maker TOTO has launched a service using QR codes to help users find nearby public restrooms and check real-time occupancy levels on their smartphones. The system links to existing facility management tech, alerting staff about dirty or overly occupied stalls. Available in multiple languages, it aims to ease long lines at crowded places, especially for women. The Japanese government plans to allocate extra funds to add digital signs and adjustable toilet walls to boost the number of women's stalls.
