Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, and the Ethiopian government have signed a $2.5 billion deal to build a fertilizer plant in Ethiopia's Somali region.
The plant, co-owned 60% by Dangote and 40% by Ethiopia’s Ethiopian Investment Holdings, is expected to produce 3 million tons of fertilizer annually, aiding Ethiopia's food security and reducing reliance on imports.
Completion is set for 40 months.
