Deputy accidentally shoots homeowner who fired at break-in suspects in Orange County.

An Orange County deputy accidentally shot a homeowner in his 40s who had fired at break-in suspects on August 23, 2025. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released. The deputy, who was on administrative leave, will face investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The four suspects fled and are still at large.
