Australia severed ties with Iran after intelligence linked the country to anti-Semitic attacks in Australia.

Australia cut diplomatic ties with Iran and expelled its ambassador after intelligence found Iran directed at least two anti-Semitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated the attacks were orchestrated by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), leading to plans to list the IRGC as a terrorist organization. The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) found Iran used a complex network of proxies, including organized crime, to carry out the attacks.
