The Supreme Court has prevented a trial court from proceeding against Ashoka University professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad over his social media posts related to Operation Sindoor. The court has halted the framing of charges and ordered the quashing of proceedings in one of two FIRs filed against him, with a closure report submitted for that case. Mahmudabad was arrested in May over allegations that his posts endangered national sovereignty and integrity.
