Indian opposition parties boycott committee reviewing bills that could remove leaders if arrested.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and several other opposition parties in India are boycotting a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) reviewing bills that could remove Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers if they are arrested for 30 consecutive days on serious charges.
The AAP and others claim the bills are politically motivated, aimed at jailing opposition leaders and destabilizing elected governments.
The JPC is set to submit its report in November.
