West African Exams Council releases BECE results for over 600,000 students, cancels some due to malpractice.

The West African Examinations Council has released provisional BECE results for 603,328 candidates. Results were sent to schools and are available online. Malpractice investigations led to the cancellation of subject results for 718 candidates and withholding for 1,240 others. Results from some candidates in 119 schools were cancelled, and those from 87 schools were withheld pending further review, with decisions due by September 6. WAEC warned against fraudsters promising to alter results.
