Three sisters drowned as a migrant boat capsized from Libya to Italy; survivors rescued by German group.

Three young sisters aged 9, 11, and 17 drowned as a rubber boat carrying over 60 migrants capsized during a crossing from Libya to Italy. The German rescue charity RESQSHIP reported the boat was dangerously overcrowded and hit by large waves. Among the rescued were three pregnant women, children, and a seven-month-old baby. One person remains missing after falling overboard. The survivors and the bodies of the girls were taken to Lampedusa by the rescue vessel Nadir.
