Singapore raises foster care allowances to support care for older and special needs teens.
Singapore's MSF will increase monthly allowances for foster parents caring for teenagers aged 13 and above from $1,100 to $1,300, and for those with special needs from $1,500 to $1,800.
This aims to support foster parents with higher costs and to encourage more families to foster older children.
The changes benefit around 130 teenagers and their foster parents, with the goal of helping children who have faced abuse or neglect.
MSF also removed minimum income and education requirements for foster applicants last year.
