Turkey begins building a railway to Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan, aiming to enhance regional trade and peace.
Turkey has started building a railway line connecting its Kars province to Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan exclave, part of the Zangezur Corridor.
The 224-kilometer railway, expected to be completed in four to five years, will transport up to 5.5 million passengers and 15 million tons of cargo annually.
Funded with $2.8 billion, the project aims to boost economic cooperation and regional peace between Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
It also supports Turkey’s position as a key global logistics hub.
