The Houston Astros are signing veteran pitcher Craig Kimbrel to strengthen their bullpen.

The Houston Astros are set to sign nine-time All-Star Craig Kimbrel, who has 440 career saves, to bolster their bullpen after closer Josh Hader was sidelined by a shoulder injury. Kimbrel, 37, appeared in one game this season for the Atlanta Braves and has spent time with three minor-league teams, most recently with the Texas Rangers' Triple-A affiliate. His career includes a 2.59 ERA and 440 saves in 499 chances.
