A Texas judge has temporarily blocked Attorney General Ken Paxton from pursuing legal action against Powered by People, a political group founded by Beto O'Rourke. Paxton accused the group of improperly funding a Democratic quorum break in the Texas House. The judge ruled Paxton was attempting to impinge on the group's constitutionally protected activity. The temporary block will expire on September 2 unless extended. This follows a walkout by dozens of Texas House Democrats to block a Republican-led redistricting plan.
