The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) now ties student upkeep loans strictly to the academic session of each institution.
Loans will only be given during the active academic session and stop once the session ends.
Students must apply at the start of each session to qualify for loans covering both institutional charges and upkeep.
As of August 21, 2025, NELFUND has disbursed ₦86 billion to over 449,000 students.
