Miami Dolphins activate retired tight end Darren Waller, expected to start after trade.

The Miami Dolphins have activated veteran tight end Darren Waller from the PUP list. Waller, who retired 14 months ago, joined the Dolphins in a July trade from the New York Giants. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel expects Waller to start practicing soon. Waller's one-year deal is worth up to $5 million, and he is expected to start for the team, following the trade of tight end Jonnu Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
