UK delays PIP reforms; benefits may rise by £28.40 monthly, pending inflation data.
The UK's Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has postponed reforms to the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) system until a review of the assessment process is completed next year.
Over 3.7 million people in Great Britain receive PIP, with payments rising annually based on the September inflation rate.
If the July Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation rate of 3.8% holds, maximum PIP payments could increase from £749.80 to £778.20 every four weeks.
The DWP will announce the exact increase after the August and September CPI rates are known.
