Four Asian nations launch joint Mekong River patrol to combat cross-border crimes.
Law enforcement from China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand have launched their 156th joint patrol along the Mekong River to fight cross-border crimes including online gambling, telecom fraud, and drug trafficking.
The mission involves over 100 personnel and seven patrol vessels, with integrated land-water inspections and an information exchange meeting in Myanmar to discuss future cooperation.
Joint patrols have been ongoing since December 2011.
