China launched nine internet satellites and a space exploration test satellite on August 17, 2025.
On August 17, 2025, China launched two separate satellite missions.
The first was a group of nine low Earth orbit satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, forming an internet constellation and marking the ninth such group.
Launched at 10:15 p.m. Beijing Time on a modified Long March-6 rocket, the satellites successfully entered their orbits.
This launch was the 590th mission for the Long March rockets.
Separately, a test satellite, Shiyan-28B 02, was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province at 4:55 p.m. Beijing Time on a Long March-4C rocket, entering its orbit successfully for space environment exploration.
This was the 589th mission for the Long March series.
