Irish lifeboat crew rescued two paddleboarders off Achill Island after a wind blew them off course.
On Aug 16, during an open day event in Mayo, Ireland, the Achill Island RNLI lifeboat crew interrupted their festivities to rescue three paddleboarders who were blown off course by an easterly wind at Keem Bay. A lifeguard raised the alarm when the paddleboarders took longer to return. By the time the lifeboat arrived, one had reached shore, and two were helped by a local fishing boat. Coxswain Declan Corrigan thanked the lifeguards and urged people to call for help in water emergencies.
