A Ghanaian businessman, Gabson Frimpong, was sentenced to 22 months in prison for defrauding his landlord, Peter Kitile Yeboah, of GHC255,930 (about $33,000), under the false pretense of buying a new Honda Civic 4x4.
Frimpong admitted to the fraud and was convicted on his own plea.
The landlord discovered he had been deceived after Frimpong disappeared with the money.
