Bangladesh's interim government seeks explanation for the arrest of a rickshaw puller paying tribute.

The interim government in Bangladesh is seeking an explanation from Dhanmondi Police Station regarding the arrest of a rickshaw puller, Md Azizur Rahman, who was detained while attempting to pay tribute at Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's residence. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police is also reviewing the officer's recent conduct. Azizur was granted bail by a Dhaka court. Separately, a woman and her eight-month-old granddaughter were killed, and five others injured, in a road accident when a tractor crashed into their auto-rickshaw in Kishoreganj.
