Woman pleads guilty for spitting at U.S. Attorney and officers after his nomination was withdrawn.

Emily Gabriella Sommer, a 32-year-old from Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty to assault charges for spitting on then-acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin Jr. and two law enforcement officers. The incident occurred on May 8, the same day President Trump withdrew Martin's nomination. Sommer is scheduled to be sentenced on October 10.
