D.C. Police Chief allows sharing info with ICE but bans checking immigration status.

Washington D.C.'s Police Chief Pamela Smith signed an order allowing local police to share information about individuals not in custody with ICE and assist with detainee transportation. The order, made under President Trump's federal takeover of D.C. law enforcement, prohibits officers from checking databases for immigration status or arresting based on federal immigration warrants. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's office has not commented.
