Four-year-old Vethavalli Vasu-Dharma from Bradford died after being found unconscious in the lagoon area of Waterworld in Stoke-on-Trent on August 4. She was pronounced dead at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Waterworld's new owner, Looping Group, acquired the park just days before the incident and has issued a statement expressing deep sorrow. An inquest into her death has been opened but adjourned, with a full health and safety investigation underway.
